Made a stopover in Bodrum and paid a ridiculous amount of money to stop in the marina, specifically to see the Museum of Underwater Arch & Castle etc, checked the website for opening hours etc but when we arrived we find the museum and castle has been closed since May this year. The local Tourist Info center confirmed it will be closed for 2 years for a reno. Great but what about the halfwits stating on the Museum website that it is closed. Worse still there are websites still selling guided tours. We will not return to Bodrum or recommend it to other travelers.

Visitors to Bodrum expecting to be able to visit the Castle and Underwater Archaeological Museum should be aware that both are closed for at least two years (from May 2018) for renovations. There is no notification on the museum website or any other website as far as I can tell. I made the trip from Spain to Bodrum specifically to see the Uluburun wreck exhibits only to find the area of the castle and museum fenced off. The young lady in the Tourist Information Office nearby admitted that the management had not made any announcement about the closure. Presumably they still want to entice visitors to the town. To say I was miffed is a bit of an understatement.

Closed! Am sure will give 5 star one day... But the deceptiveness of the official Turkish cultural/muesum web site and this site is beyound unfair. This place is closed till 2020 due to renovations from the last quake...but let's not tell the tourists and vistors that!!!! Unbelivable!

I think Google needs to change the opening hours information as it is not currently operating. It is closed due to Bodrum Castle renovation. When I arrived there, it was not a good suprise to find out that the museum has not been operationg.

Came here expecting the museum to be open, in fact nowhere you could find any information regarding the museum's closure for restoration... A waste of time to stop over at Bodrum.
